• Pérdida Técnica del Balón: Clasificación
• "Technical Turnover": Classification

( for English Translation= See Below )

Excelente propuesta !
Muchas gracias.

Khryapa’s passing is off the charts. He’s also committing a fair amount of turnovers, but they’ll take that as long as he creates easy looks for Krstic, Kirilenko etc. And he does that. Here’s the thing about turnover percentage: It punishes players who don’t take shots. Khryapa averages just 6.5 shot attempts a game, but he takes risks with his passing. TOV% is in the “per possession”-family, like PPP. Lorbek’s is committing no turnovers (yes, in ACB, too), that is, combined with the number of shots he creates for himself, remarkable.

Force Turnovers by Trapping Ball Screens!
Ray Giacoletti, head coach at Drake University, often has his team trap ball screens to frustrate the offense and get them out of their rhythm. Coach Giacoletti demonstrates the keys to springing a good trap on a ball screen, as well as how to force a turnover once the ball handler picks up their dribble.

Excellent proposal ! Specially if you hear the reporters saying it was the second time in the same game.... !
I sent this clip to the graduates of the srill concluded eBA Statistics Tracking Clinic, and we are working on this idea, but under the denomination "Technical Turnover". What do you think ?
We are working on the denomination, classification and value of this category. Thank you.

Until that moment, we can resume this topic: we have a turnover when your team has the ball, and you lose it to the other team. A turnover can come in the form of a stolen pass, a pass that you throw out of bounds, it can be where they steal the ball away from your dribbler, it can be where you have a player stand in the paint for over three seconds, etc., etc, etc.

When the turnover does occurs or when a bad shot is forced during an ON BALL screen situation, that's means there is a direct influence of an opponent action: the eBA Basketball Statistics Analysis System refers to it as a FORCED TURNOVER.

When the turnover does occur WITHOUT any opponent influence or interference: a bad pass you YOURSELF throw out of bounds, we call it an UNFORCED TURNOVER.

The value of the turnover, doesn't vary in our metric, being the same for both types, but the eBA System report give to the coach the total quantity and percentages of Forced and Unforced Turnovers by separate, leading so to a deeper analysis of our possessions.

The pages of the eBA Basketball Statistics Analysis System, recently uploaded, shows the applicability and reports with reference the Forced and Unforced Turnovers.

• Turnovers Different Values
• Diferentes Valores del Balón Perdido

( para Traducción al Español= Ver a Continuación )

Studying this thread after looking this play I question myself: it is not necessary to make a difference in the value of Forced and Unforced Turnovers, and between the Unforced ones like this in this clip... something like an "unfundamental" (lack of fundamentals) turnover with the highest reduction value ?

Norris Cole and Hassan Whiteside Lack of Fundamentals Turnover

• Leave for the Head Coach the Task Anaysis of this Situation

Ball Handling Drills to Control the Offense and Reduce Turnovers!
Being able to take foot quickness and ball handling, and implementing it into eye hand coordination goes a long long way on the court each season.
Myron Epps of the Aztec Basketball Academy takes those important skills and adds multiple ball skills to his foot quickness drills in order to maximize his player's ability to control the ball in various situations.
Turnovers play a huge role in the outcome of a game along with the ability to lead and control an offense. These ball handling agility workouts will help build body control while building essential ball skills at the same time!

Many of the videos of our Case Studies were "buried" by the #Dailymotion Pornography Channel, which closed our channel shamefully yielding to the pressures of our competence ... we were too successful and the basketball has no porn :) !
That is why the videos of many publications with Case Studies have disappeared! We are working very hard to recover them!
Our apologies for the inconvenience!
Keep your kids away from #DailymontionArrogance !

The player could make the same mistake three times or more ... the statistician only have to record the actions in the more faithful way ... and leave for the Head Coach the task anaysis this situation. Here you can use our Technical Turnover classification ( see below for the concepts ).

Javale McGee makes the same mistake...twice... is there any special qualification of these two plays, when doing basketball statistical analysis, and not only tracking statistics ?

• VIDEO: This is simply an Unforced Turnover

( for English Translation= See Below )

NBA Worst Passes of All Time

This case was still analyzed  here, with the pass from Scottie Pippen to the referee on a fast brerak...

This NOT a case od TTO ~ technical turnover ~ because lack or bad basketball fundamentals and no one forced the turnover... out of Perkins itself !, therefore we record against him an 'unforced turnover'.
