To resume this answer: traveling is progressing in any direction while in possession of the ball[/b], which is in excess of prescribed limits as noted in Rule 4-Section VIII and Rule 10- Section XIV.

Forced or Unforced, as discussed widely at our Global Basketball Encyclopedia, it depends upon the action of the opponent player.

About the different value of the Forced or Unforced Turnover, you must consult the eBA System - The Project.

See the other "Traveling" topics at this eBA-Forum, and the discussion at The Glossary.

( for English Translation: See Below )

Traveling is:
  * Moving the pivot foot in excess of prescribed limits.
  * Holding the ball and then touching the floor with other than the feet or hands - while still holding the ball.

The part of the question about sliding, refers to diving for the ball and the momentum of the dive causing the slide. This is legal. Once a player is "stopped" the player can't - legally - slide.

• If a player falls to the ground with the ball is it traveling?

If a player falls to the ground with the ball is it traveling?
In the rule book it says if a player slides with the ball it is legal.
Someone explain what is traveling and what is not.
When it's Forced and when is Unforced?
Thanks !

Gracias !
