Shot Clock

Shot Clock:
The clock used to time possessions and indicates the amount of time a team has in which to take a shot. The time limit is 24 seconds in the NBA, FIBA, ULEB and international play, 35 seconds in men's college Basketball, and 30 seconds for collegiate women. A team must attempt a shot that hits the rim before time has expired or else it loses possession of the ball.
